An amazing collective exhibition in the institute Yunus Emre
I am thrilled to share the exciting news that three of my paintings were recently featured at the prestigious exhibition, “Long Nights of Interculturality,” organized by the International Council for Diplomacy and Outreach (ICDO) on September 20, 2023. This event brought together a select group of artists, each contributing unique perspectives to a conversation that resonates with the world’s most pressing issues—climate change, sustainability, and the richness of human culture.
The theme of the exhibition, centered around climate and sustainability, struck a chord with the urgency of our times. As I walked through the gallery, surrounded by diverse artworks, it became evident that art has the power to amplify important messages. The goal of “Long Nights of Interculturality” was not just to showcase artistic talent but to ignite conversations about how we, as a global community, can contribute to a sustainable future.
My art concept delved into the beauty of cultural diversity and its potential role in addressing the environmental challenges we face. The paintings served as a visual exploration of the interconnectedness between culture, sustainability, and the changing climate.
One piece, titled “Menchú One mask,” depicted Rigoberta Menchú, she was an activist fighting for the indigenous culture. She symbolises the strength in unity and power that lies in our differences. The heart of my art concept lies in the belief that by embracing and celebrating our cultural diversities, we can find innovative solutions to the challenges posed by climate change. Our differences and similarities can be the wellspring of creativity and unity needed to protect our planet.
As we navigate the complexities of the 21st century, events like “Long Nights of Interculturality” remind us that art is not just a reflection of the world; it is a catalyst for change. It challenges us to think, to feel, and to act. My gratitude extends to ICDO for providing a platform where artists could contribute to this vital dialogue.
In conclusion, my experience at “Long Nights of Interculturality” was not just about showcasing my art; it was about being part of a larger narrative—a narrative that envisions a harmonious coexistence of culture, sustainability, and a planet that thrives. May the brushstrokes of unity painted at this exhibition continue to inspire conversations and actions that lead us toward a more sustainable and culturally rich future.
